Hobby Lab: Winterdale Watchtower 2, The Finished Print

Once the printer is finished, we can finally check out the parts and start seeing what needs work and what has turned out good.

Initially we can see the usual result from our printer. Some stringy excess material here and there, but nothing a bit of tidying won't solve.

The parts fit wonderfully straight off the print bed which is a very positive side to this build. It means we do not have to worry about the join points at all as we move on to prepping the parts for paint. However, there is a small issue as you can see below.

One corner piece on the roof has had an issue and has notprinted correctly. This is not the end of the world as the part failed on a new layer, which lets us remove the mess and leaves us with a clean surface that we can use as a hint of damage sustained to the tower at some point in its history.
