Valley Of The Vikings Wins Kinderspiel des Jahres 2019

Valley Of The Vikings, also known as Tal de Wikinger, has won the coveted Kinderspiel des Jahres for 2019. It's no surprise that the winner came from the folks at HABA who are experts at creating experiences for younger tabletop gamers.
Valley Of The Vikings is a fun dexterity-based game where you are taking part in the annual barrel bowling contest. You have to use your ball to knock down the right barrels whilst also positioning your own Vikings on the dock.
If you end up going too far and falling into the water you might come away empty handed. That will put you in a sticky situation as the player with the most gold coins at the end of the game is the winner.
This seems simple, straight forward and most importantly fun. It's got enough moving parts and an engaging premise to be entertaining for a group of younger gamers and I'm sure it's even going to work well with older ones too.
So, with the Kinderspiel des Jahres announced it's time to see who comes out on top for the Spiel des Jahres itself.

I know its for kids but dam if it isn’t fun to bowl people over and throw them off the end of the dock.
