Leading the First Company of the Third Cohort is Commander Heinz Aldebonn
One of the Few Captains that were bought to the Chapter by Guilliman to keep his rank Aldebonn is now the Senior Captain of the Third Cohort
His first honour was gained fighting the Ork Warboss Brain Smasha where he lead the precision strike that shattered the Ork Waaagh and personally killing the bodyguards of the Warboss which enabled the Deathwatch Kill Team to eliminate the Warboss
As acting Order Commander of the Third Cohort while the previous Brother was recovering from wounds suffered he oversaw the recovery of four Blades and the destruction of a Genestealer Cult before handing command back to the Order Commander of the Third Cohort and organising the defence of Hive Quadrus on Galland VII against a Tyranid Invasion.
He earned his Shoulder Decoration for killing a former Captain on the Knights of the Blade who was attempting to ferment a Nurgle Cult which the Commander later destroyed
His helmet was a gift from his Sub Commander Allistair Gollan after the Sub Commander was gifted a Helmet from the Chapter's Relics for his outstanding bravery. The Commander's helmet was destroyed by a Tyranid on Galland VII and he fought the rest of the action bareheaded and horrifically disfigured until he was gifted a replacement and extensive facial reconstruction.Attached to the Third Cohort is Arch Librarian Elias Wissender, Deputy of the Librarian Conclave of the Order of the Broken Sword.
Wissender's Job is to record the actions of the Third Cohort and since the Third Company is the Senior of the Three in the Cohort h serves with them in action. Another two Librarian's are attached to the other Two Companies.
He wears the Blue armour of his Profession but forgoes the coloured robes for a subtle Grey to reinforce his allegiance to his Chapter.
As a Librarian he is treated with extreme distrust. This is somewhat lesser within the Cohort with whom he has served for some time now. Still he is not permitted to break his sword, to use the Companies Battlecry in Combat, speak without invitation in open meetings with non-Astartes or claim battle honours
Arch Librarian Wissender becomes a ranking Officer of the Chapter on the field of Battle where he is ranked equivalent to a Commander. He can give orders, speak on the Chapter's Behalf and interpret his orders as he sees fit.
