First off we're talking Warhammer 40,000. We've still got tickets available for folks to get involved with our Hobby Weekend in August (9th-11th), be it digital or otherwise.

OnTableTop is also heading to Historicon this year. Gerry, Justin and community member @oriskany are going to be visiting American for this awesome convention to see what all the fuss is about.

I remember the Chess being on TV when British Grandmaster Nigel Short challenged the mighty Russian. The excitement of one of the players coming back on the stage after sitting in a room after an hour of thinking of a move was amazing! Great memories, though I think it was Channel 4, as my granny might have been annoyed as the coverage had interrupted her racing and Countdown viewing!

Maybe a silly question but for the slow grow league does it have to be done in 15mm and if so does it have to be battlefront minis?
Troublemaker games a few years ago had a sci-fi game out that during the game you established mines and factories during the game. Seems to have disappeared now though
For Epic all the old versions are still out there if you do a Google search for them as are plenty of proxies

Im gonna say to participate officially… yes.
Of course your welcome to run a project of any kind and I think a recreation at 6mm will be fascinating 🙂
But these days while i have no issue with folk using whatever they want in gaming (and even do so myself in many games!) I think its only fair when joining in an event of some kind that the creators have worked on, to show them support by using their stuff 🙂

What scale were you thinking @Torros? Given my new found love of tiny men, I’d be up for painting both 15mm for the league and do a smaller scaled force for a painting challenge and the giggles!
In was thinking 6mm but have thoughts of multi basing 3mm but H&R in 6mm are cheap and cheerful and if the rules are similar to Team Yankee then I think 6mm is a better size for the game. I’ll look at some historical scenarios and build up one of those maybe
Or maybe 10mm will depend on available finances
Lots of things to look forward to from this Weekender, happy to say I have grabbed a ticket for the Hobby Camp although this will actually see me start my Age of Sigmar army using Slaanesh. I have recently invested in a Death Korp of Krieg force but will use this opportunity to kick off the AOS army and brush up on 40k rules. Those Astartes shorts are excellent. I got the “Colours of War” book from OTT this week. Already had Fortress Europe and the German unit cards. Should have got the “Hit the Beach” box too.
Note to the OTT p&p team. Get some better packaging options, as in this day and age receiving a single hardback book in a large cardboard box with loads of plastic pillowed filling is unnecessary and immoral!
yep, but we have limitations at this early stage too.
Smaller boxes cost approx the same as the standard size we are currently using. And they cost exactly the same to post too.
So to keep things sensible we are running with a standard size box while we scale up 🙂
Soon every box will have a link on it to a project where you can turn the box into terrain. We call that upcycling at it’s best:)

Hey Warren why don’t you look into “ship” yourself over by Freighter basically take a Cruise to North America for the event and then ship your self back when it done.

Fantasy Brawl needs to be multi-player for me to purchase, hope it happens ‘cos I love the minis.
@hithero it is up to four players with the tornado rules. If you follow the link to the Kickstarter and then click on the Rules PDF there you can see a draft of the multiplayer rules buddy at the end of the main rules set.

For the Flames of War Slow grow does it have to be Official Battlefront minis or can we mix in other manufacturers like PSC?
Only asking because I want to do British Paras (who were involved in D-Day) but it doesn’t look like they’ll be getting official minis for at least 6 months (Feb 2020 if the release date).
Is there even a British Para list in the Current book or should I look at doing another army?
there is no Para list in the book, although I can supply one if you want to try it, you will just miss out on any tweaks they may bring in until the offical list lands in a year or so.
Personally I wouldn’t have any issue with the PSC stuff, I have the paras and their weapons section and the minis are lovely. I imagine it would probably rule you out of the Battlefront prizes on their facepage and instagram thingy mind you ^^

No problems with PSC, except to say their figures are less stocky and slightly fragile asa result.
Most of my current German LW army is PSC mixed with a splattering of 1:100 Zvezda, Skytrex and some BF. But that was from before BF went full plastic and their pricing was… ‘uncompetitive’.
Just found this 1:100 Spitfire from John Lewis. If I were playing British I’d be thinking a couple of those mounted on a base would look pretty awesome (compared to the out-of-scale models BF sell)

PSC are great I had a whole force of Russian Infantry and another of tanks, I was more concerned with whether or not the Project system part would allow people to use non-Flames minis since their current range is pretty limited.

That video for fantasy brawl confirms what I suspected… it’s a mobile phone game.
Small arena, garish colours on the cards, sculpts looks cartoony.
Not a game for me. But I’m sure lots of people will buy it.
