Footsore Miniatures’ King Morvan Builds His Breton Army
June 21, 2019 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures & Games have shown off an upcoming hero that will be leading Breton armies into battle during the Dark Age. Here we have a sneaky look at Morvan Lez Breizh.
This sculpt comes from Paul Hicks and was painted by Jez Allum. It is thought that Morvan was the first person to be known by the title of 'Breton King', ruling and commanding a warband that drew members from across Brittany.
He seems like a dashing individual with an impressive moustache, a key feature of any leader. Breton's have never really factored into my thinking when it comes to building armies for Dark Age gaming but I think they provide you with a nice alternative to the normal shield wall.
What do you make of Morvan?

Paul Hicks is a putty god. He does great work, particularly faces and any hair that grows from them. I could see him on the lead pile, but I might straighten the sword before I paint it 😉
Very nice.
A fabulous looking figure will fit in well with the rest of their period figure’s.
