Games Workshop’s Preview Store Anniversary Models For Next Year
June 19, 2019 by brennon
Games Workshop is looking ahead to the new Store Anniversary Models which are going to be popping up at Warhammer Stores throughout the next year. We start with my favourite of the two, Larissa Shadowstalker for Age Of Sigmar players.
This new Knight-Questor has been sent by Sigmar himself on some honourable quest. She carries a double-bladed stormstrike glaive in one hand and the other is open, calling her foe into a one-on-one challenge.
She seems like an awesome character to throw into the mix for those looking to create a more unique Stormcast Eternal force on the tabletop. Also, with Age Of Sigmar: Soulbound on the horizon and skirmish games like Warcry, she would make a great character to throw into the mix on both counts.
Stormstrike also comes with rules for monster hunting, making her a warrior that is adept at cutting down characters and mighty beasts alike.
Chainsword In The Nervous System?
Turning to the world of Warhammer 40,000 we also have Space Marines Sergeant Jovan.
Jovan is taking a break here after a bloody battle with Orks, his chainsword lodged in the skull of a dismembered Ork. His power armour is pock-marked with bullets that he has weathered as he charged forward into the front lines.
As well as the model getting it's smaller 'gaming' base it also comes with a larger 40mm base which is for those looking to create a larger vignette. I can imagine Jovan is going to pop up in as a Golden Demon miniature next year.
Whilst he has been painted here as an Ultramarine I reckon he'd work really well as a Blood Angel. Also, with a head swap and some additional accessories, you could even work him into a Space Wolf or Black Templar army too.
Exclusive Accessories
As well as the miniatures, you'll also be able to snap up some special goodies like this Backpack...
...which comes with either a 40K or Age Of Sigmar icon that you can stick to the back or Ammo Tin. I have no idea what's inside this set but it looks cool, right?
Art prints, books and more are also going to be available so watch out for these releases at a store near you.
If you don't get a chance to pick up one of these models from stores you can also order them on the day and they will be sent to the store at a later date. You can track when your local store's anniversary is HERE.
Will you be watching out for your store's anniversary?

I like both models.
We have seen so many Sigmarines and Primaris Marines that both models are rather meh with those poses being only interesting part about those two. That Ammo Tin how ever might be worth picking up demanding on what is in it.
I think Larissa looks totally bad ass…yeah, it’s a Stormcast but they are the ‘poster boys’ of the AoS.
Nice enough that I would pick them up, maybe for a nicer display job. I never will though as I hardly go into GW stores and certainly never when there is something like this on. It is a bit frustrating how much GW places emphasis on what is very limited availability. Not the end of the world though.
Well, it is for a special occasion this time. Wouldn’t be very special if it was always available heh.
Haha,
sure I get why they do this and fair enough. What GW forgets is that not all their customers can hop down an a specific day on the off chance to pick something up – those of us who are a bit older have families and other commitments. So parading around something which we can’t ever get hold of is kind of counter productive too.
Both models look great. Would love that backpack as well.
Definitely think I’ll grab some of this stuff.
Two fabulous looking figure’s.
Both lovely models, but this time round I think I will have to say the Stormcast is the nicer mini. Not to disparage the Marine, but that battle pose is amazing. Even if the tin has nothing in it, it’d make a nice dice box. I love rattly boxes. 😛
Are you sure she’s called Larissa and not Lola? As in L-O-L-A Lola? Despise having lumps in the right places and having a clearly female head she seems a little too stocky in the frame to me. Also it’s just another Stormcast.
The Space Marine is an interesting model and it’s nice to a non combat pose for a change. But it’s also just another Space Marine.
She’s supposed to be a warrior, not a waifu I think.
It doesn’t really matter whether she’s a warrior or not, she’s still got a man’s frame. Female athletes don’t grow wide shoulders and lose their waists and hips just because they’re athletic. Even female body builders retain a feminine form under all that muscle. This looks like a man with tits
And sigmarines are rebuilt from ground up with magic to make them better fighters. Every male sigmarine is a beefy boy, it only makes sense to apply the same to ladies.
Not if you’re trying to design female miniatures it doesn’t.
Also if you were Sigmar “designing” Stormcast Eternals to be rebuilt from the ground up you wouldn’t bother giving them any sex at all because it’s surplus to requirements. For a being whose sole purpose is to fight and die to be reborn again and again, what use are those tits? Logically they should be androgenous. But they’re not, because people want to see female representation in miniatures and if that’s what people want, then it really needs female looking females; Larissa is not such a model
I like them both.
Any dead ork on a base is fine by me 🙂 !
Sweet they are bring back the Backpack and Ammo Box that they had a long time ago. (Look at pictures closer) Those are new…That Backpack looks better…
Jovan reminds me of Norris Packard from Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS team. Might actually pick up one of their aniversary models now. Larissa looks pretty cool too.
