Take The Fight To Napoleon With Warlord’s British Starter Set
April 5, 2014 by brennon
Warlord Games are making sure you know where to begin when it comes to Black Powder. They have an ace looking Napoleonic British Starter Set for you to pick up that contains around 150 models!
If you were going to start out with anything in Black Powder then I doubt you could go far wrong when it comes to this. Of course this is very much focused on the Napoleonic era and around the time of Waterloo so some purists might not like it but if you want to just get started and playing then this is certainly a perfect pick.
I wish that I had someone who would paint all this up for me because I would love to have a massive colourful British army. Alas Black Powder might have to wait therefore but at least I know there is a good entrance point with this.
Will you be grabbing this?

This is an example of how bargain starter sets should be done – Warlord are not the only people t do this sort of thing but they do it very, very well.
A certain other company could learn a lot from this philosophy (hint-hint).
Yes one click my butt collections save you nothing!
If you click your butt wee hands and a face emerge like on that Phoenix thingy the boys were looking at on the Weekender. 🙂
Holy smokes Warlord are certainly producing some cracking box sets! After the guys talked about Pegasus bridge the other day and now this too I think I’m going to have to give historical gaming some more attention going forward.
28mm Napoleonic gaming is madness…
On another point I wonder why they did a British Army for the 100 days campaign…Ok I know the anniversary of Waterloo is coming up, but they will all be wearing the Belgic Shako which wasnt used in the Penninsular campaign
the Hundred Days refers to Boney’s return from exile – at this point the British Army had been garrisoned on French and Belgian soil for quite some time (with a lot of units getting moved around/refitted with new kit) so its fine 🙂 People remember Waterloo, but you’ve got the battle of Quatre Bras and dozens of skirmishes between the advancing French units and the thinly spread allied garrisons throughout the low countries forced to make a fighting retreat to get back to the relative safety of the main force being mobilised by Wellington, the Young Frog, Picton & Uxbridge… Read more »
Now Maitland! Now’s your time!
I still prefer the revolutionary war period up to 1799..lots more interesting armies to play about with
i have some of the new waterloo minis and they are very nice indeed 🙂
