These came through to me on a Facebook page and I thought they might be a useful visual reference for people interested in the new products.

Please don’t flame this too much was just posting this here to try and help people out if they are going to try them.

It is a very neat reference. I’d say GW definitely have created something useful here.

I´ve a small orc detachment to paint and warp lightning or/and orc flesh will do the job. For the skin,I mean.

Yeah these photos were a real help in deciding which ones to pre order, so thanks to whom ever posted them and to @noyjatat for posting them.

@torros looks like the smaller scales is where these paints have even more use.
I wonder which colours would be useful for WW 2. The creed camo looks like it might work for US or Soviet forces.
And I’m sure one of the grey tones would be close enough for German vehicles.

This video although in German gives a good job of using alternative paints from Vallejo that match the GW primers

That was to be expected, wasn’t it ?
GW’s advantage with this is marketing/visibility and convenience (more colours and they’re matched to their existing paint) …

It does kind of suck that they had to use their own branded name for this paint type, but it makes sense from a marketing/business perspective as it makes it harder for the average consumer to find alternative products.

Yes, thanks for adding this; it was something I needed to see, using the same figure, varying only the base coat. One question: were those base paints used as a primer or sprayed over a primer? With the evening’s experimentation with the few that I bought yesterday, I find that they seem to work best with figures with distinct recesses , less so with subtle “terrain”. Now I have to experiment with using the grey seer and wraithbone through my airbrush.

P.S. The Black Templar used over a primed black figure gives the richest black I’ve ever seen. Now I just have to figure a way to maintain the highlights prior to that. Maybe lighter highlights?
