Chris Shares His Inspiration For Big Four Of Late War
Over on Battlefront’s Big Four Of Late War, Chris shares some of the inspiration behind his force of WWII Brits.
Chris draws on his favourite WWII movies, such as A Bridge Too Far, for his motivation, and turns to the pages of Colours of War for some tips on creating an army he can be proud of.
You can read his full article over at Big Four Of Late War.
Thanks for sharing.
Good stuff. I hope you all have fun with this.
I’m sure Chris will manage to work on this lot of Brits. I have some unpainted Comets myself.
Obi Wan is in that movie.
If I played the Brits I’d spam nothing but Churchill Crocodiles! Fire everywhere!
Some good reference photos, I always like to have at least some stowage on my tanks, not a full gypsy caravan, with stuff hanging off everywhere but a bit to make it feel like it’s not just come off the production line.
Have a Cromwell platoon sat waiting to paint from last year….. might leave them till the British book arrives…. time to squeeze in some Yankees! 🙂
A nice set of pictures.
Many sources to get inspiration from. Or read oriskany´s history series.
Nice to here someone’s thoughts about their army and where they think it will be at the end of the journey
Does Jon approve?
I’m starting to think that colours of war book would be a good buy.
Its always interesting how films influence wargamers. Band of Brothers had a big influence on my bolt action US paratroopers.
Same: love the Brits and their … less than great gear.
Looks like it’s going to be a great little blog to follow.
love that film. “Start the purple”
I need to watch a Bridge too far again! Awesome film!
Nice article.
This concept of committing to this four year project is really inspiring.
I have too many unpainted Brits for mid war right now but I still want some of the late war goodies
brittish troops always fought with style
The Brits look really great can’t wait to get my hands on some.
