Thanks BOW,
Thanks Mantic,
Thanks RiverHorse.
Looks like we’re getting Mantic goblins, I so hope they will be as detailed as the gore riding orc. Cause then I’m finally getting my block of 100!

Check the mantic blog. There is a gobbo here, and what looks to be a “squig-like” mawbeast. Gobblins look nice….cant wait to see more.
Are there any poses besides the one featured here? For nice as it is, I don’t want to buy 100 orcs in the same pose. But maybe they’ll release more as orc week goes on. I sure would like to fill in my orc army with nice looking orcs that are a third of the price of gw orcs 😀

Lol yay for sneeky goblins!
That is a nice army list, although I am disappointed there are no Giants or Trolls. Hopefully these could be added as allies for all evil factions at some point. Giants could be neutral of course. I can see me combining Orcs, Goblins and Ogres into a single army, with maybe some Abyssal Dwarfs, just for the cool factor.
Yes, but when are mantic doing Tomb Kings? 😉
Another Rip off of Warhammer. Love the sculpts Mantic makes but Dam they keep selling to the Warhammer player and they dont care for their game, no matter how many beta army lists they make if they just copy and paste the same Dam troops that Warhammer’s armies have.
You mean another rip off of Warhammer, who ripped off D&D, who ripped of Tolkien.
:p
Need to take issue with this broad brush reasoning..
D&D ripped off Tolkien how exactly? It’s fantasy, but generic fantasy, has far more than just Tolkien that it’s ripped off.
Warhammer role play may have ripped off D&D but Warhammer fantasy battles is a table top battle game with hundreds of miniatures as opposed to a game played in your imagination by a small group of explorers..
Not saying that GW haven’t ripped things off cos they have, but I don’t feel it’s D&D 😉
@ monly … I totally understand what you are saying but, if you think about it, you cant blame Mantic for doing what they are doing, wether its being done conciously or not. Mantic, just like GW, are in the business of selling miniatures and are no doubt more than aware of the ‘monopoly’ GW enjoys in the market place. Mantic also has enough ex-GW staff in its employ to recognise the difficulties of launches a rival game system to take on the might of WFB. So, what do you do to try and get your market share? What Mantic… Read more »
I dont mind they use the same races as Warhammer, but for God’s sake, why cant they make some DAM unique troop choices, for example, make some dwarfs riding some rams or some bears, but they wont make them because Warhammer’s Dwarfs dont ride nothing. Why nome make Orcs ride something else than wild pigs? Because no Warhammer player would buy it. If I where Games Workshop, I would be pissed of this rip off Mantic is pulling to drive of GW’s share. I hate monopoly, but I hate even more cheap tactics to get money, and thats what Mantic… Read more »
I wish you’d stop saying dam, or at least spell it correctly!! DAMN 😉
I don’t mind Matic trying to give us cheap alternatives as long as they don’t blatantly start ripping off the IP any more than they are (I’m sure GWs legal team are waiting for a slip up) – but I’m not too keen on their Dwarf and Orc styles but their zombies and undead in general are great.
@monly – maybe they will, but at start up their best bet for maximum profitability is to provide units that are useful to GW and other army lists. I hope they will too, but at the moment I am happy that they’re providing a good quality cheaper option.
Have to agree with Russoliver here mantic are providing an alternative product to GW at good prices not the rip off prices that GW charge .
And at the end of the day it is the choice of the buying public where they wish to purchase their minis . Full marks to mantic for their efforts !! And when are they going to do a Human army al la Empire ?
