- The key mechanics are around choice rather than randomness. A game of Deneb has at most, two coin-tosses for random elements, and everything else is down to player choice.
- It’s a skirmish-like game, but it uses tiles (which have built-in rules for elevation and other terrain effects) to build a grid for gameplay, and all movement and measurement is tile based.
- It’s quick to play, with the smallest size games taking 30-60 mins, and the biggest 60-90 mins.
From something that has started on our very own website using the projects system we’re highly excited to see what happens with Deneb and we hope to see Dave back again in the future with the success of his hobby!
How did I miss this, sorry for not supporting you at the show. Good luck with the game I will certainly be checking it out now.
Sorry I didn’t come over and say hello when we were first in the bar at the Hilton! I was talking to Amanda saying “I am pretty sure that is laughingboy, but I don’t feel like I can go up to someone and say ‘Hey are you laughingboy’ just in case I am wrong!”
Hope you had a good one though, was a wonderful event.
Wow, cool to see something from and actual Beastie (or are the Otties now?)
Very proud to go by either moniker 🙂
The cult of Deneb. please give a shout out when going to kickstarter.
Glad you like it, for sure will do!
Huge thanks to @ludicryan for being such a wonderful host, and @lancorz for remembering to put the key points into the post above I managed to totally fail to mention in the video. Especially given the tagline of the entire game is “every choice has consequences” and I still forgot to highlight the games near-total lack of randomness!
Or the equally important fact that you can download the full PDF with lore, rules, scenarios etc… here

Not to mention the official Vassal module so you can join in with play-testing online!
Good luck Dave!
