Warren Tests Out The Games Workshop Contrast Paints!
Warren got a chance to sit down and play with some of the new Contrast Paints that are going to be hitting the market soon from Games Workshop.
As Warren has a play around with the paints he talks about their pros and cons and exactly how he might use them as he gets stuck into lots more painting projects.
a wild @ludicryan appears!
YOO HOOOOOOOOO!
But did you see the Pig lady walk by???
(1min 36secs)
It completely threw me which was awkward as I was holding the camera at the time!!!
They are going to sell a lot of this paint. Looks impressive for the amount of effort.
I hope I can fight my way to a table and try these out on Saturday 🙂
The paint is looking good so far.
Impressed by how good it looked as soon as it was put down; looking forward to trying them out when they get released. 🙂
Very interesting! I’m glad to @warzan at this table. Though I gotta say, I really did cringe when I saw how thick that paint was being slapped on ?
Great results so far, please show us the other minis turn out too!
I think my face my have paled watching as my wife asked if I was ok. I said ‘yes, but look how much paint he’s slapping on!’ was entertained to hear a matter of seconds later Warren say ‘some people will be mortified by how much paint I’m putting on’
defiantly a paint for little blonds
It is good to see these paint in live action. I am curious to see the models when they are completely dry.
the big question is what they taste like
Looking good up to yet buddy
I really like the look of these. If you’re going to try zenith highlights, it doesn’t work the way you imagine. You could zenith from a mid/light grey up to white maybe, that might work well enough. These paints do not work over dark tones though, you need a bright base for them.
I already work a lot with shades and washes over white prime, these should be another neat tool in the tool box.
Looking forward to trying these out for myself.
Im not a good painter myself, but those paints can chance alot ??
Warzan? How many colours they came up?
looking good so far! It might help with some parts of my lead mountain but I need to see more!
I don’t know if there the “end all be all”. But so far they look good . They seem to shade really well. Looking forward to the end result!
Ohh yes, nice job on this Warren! Looking forward to seeing how they dry out!
I think I’m really looking forward to trying them out for myself too!
I can see using these contrast paints for skeleton.
looks interesting definitely going to give them a try
I will definately give these paints a go – probably for a zombie horde.
Looks nice. I will be giving them a try now.
Looks like the perfect paint for rank&file hordes like skeletons other beasts.
Maby i will gibe GW paint another try?
Looks good. I wonder whether it looks good if you put normal paint over the contrast-painted area, for instance to paint some details on. Those details won´t have the strong shading, right? Does thoe whole mini still look consistent?
I want to get my hands on some of those to compare to army painter washes with mixing medium.
Also have a difficult time getting yellow how I want it
