Fight A Battle On Snowshoes With Warlord Games’ New Set

Warlord Games has added a new Starter Set into the mix for those who are diving into Black Powder and the French-Indian War. Check out Battle On Snowshoes.
The set will come with the main rulebook as well as the supplement, A Dark And Bloody Ground which offers up new options for those wanting to replay battles from this period. Inside you'll find rules for the various forces represented here as well as scenarios to play out.
I really like the range of miniatures we're seeing here in this set. It's nice to see a pair of Black Powder forces which have almost left the pageantry behind and instead embraced the need to simply wrap up warm and get the job done.
I could see this being a great skirmishing set to play around with. You could use Black Powder for some of your games and then maybe Sharp Practice for others if you wanted to get more personal.

This is very cool and a brilliant set to get into smaller skirmish games like Muskets and Tomahawks or Sharp Practice.
Snowshoe’s is well worth looking into if you’re a fan of small scale, black powder era wargaming.
The effect of “initiative” in a battle was crucial and there’s times multiple sides “roll a 1” like Roger’s men not reloading before impetuously chasing the French or Natives on both sides stopping to scalp foes that halted any pursuit of a defeated enemy.
Crap I already have the scenario book on order had I not I would have ordered this starter set. This looks like a sweet deal – and the force and intro scenario would work very nicely with Muskets and Tomahawk. It’s missing 2 figures that would/could pop out for leaders. I’m not seeing these figures sold has packs. The introduction scenario is available as a free download,while simple will set the tone for “Les guerres du Canada”.
