Unboxing: Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play Starter Set
May 24, 2019 by dignity
Put on your robe and wizard hat and join Justin and Gerry as they check out the starter set for Cubicle 7's Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play.
The starter set is designed to get anyone who has never played WFRP or any pen and paper RPG and give them everything they need to get going in their first games.
Are you ready to explore the Duchy of Ubersreik?

A wonderful set which should get you ready for lots of awesome adventures.
Re. [ 00:36 to 00:43 ] : I think ‘Age Of Sigmar RPG’ is a separate game, not an expansion. It’s going to have a different system. Just to highlight for everyone, when Jerry says that Cubicle 7 are reprinting all the old stuff they are doing so in two ways. Firstly they are in the process of creating PDFs of all the first and second edition material and putting those up for download. Secondly they are having at least some of that material rewritten and expanded, including The Enemy Within campaign. I liked the Q-Workshop dice in this set.… Read more »
We clarified the point on the AoS RPG in the weekender but good spot.
So you did.
Bloody dwarfs!!!
*sniff* I smell an elf-lover ….. bloody elves 😉
Not much of a fan of elves either. Just give me goblins.
@brennon if its anything like the original version you wont go wrong, Pete our DM ran the same party at two clubs for about 5 years , must admit tempted and dont play RPG’s these days.
Could tempt me
The Enemy Within was was my favourite campaigns to play in, but sadly the GM left the area before we finished it and so it was never completed. I think I still have my character lying around somewhere… I am tempted to buy the starter or core rules, but I have concerns that Cubicle 7 will be so slow to deliver that it will dribble out… three versions of Warhammer RPG, D&D Middle Earth, The One Ring, including a second edition One Ring (although given the revisions, I consider the hard back second edition with slipcase being first) and the… Read more »
Agree was a brilliant campaign.Nice to see Jodri is back with another name!
It’s a great game. You can listen to the one shot we ran for Darker Days Radio http://podcast.darker-days.org/e/95-warhammer-fantasy-roleplay-a-very-merry-mondstille/
Plus I just finished my campaign for it, though I set my game in the year 2000 and in the lands around Mordheim.
This might have a greater introduction than D & D.
Its a really wonder lull set. (oh and hint if you want a look at Ubersreik, the first vermintide game is about saving the Ubersreik. In Vermintide 2 there is dlc where you go back to the city)
But really love this set, its my favorite fantasy world 🙂
I loved the world from the early WH Fantasy Battle game. Still have that and Ravening Hordes.
Always thought that Anhk Morpork was like the Old World… but the comedy version. Cut-me-own-throat Dibbler, Cohen the Barbarian, the City Watch… they all felt like they belonged… and the Sender of Seven+One could be a chaos god.
The first RPG I ever tried was first edition WFRP, I have never tried DD, it seemed so complex to me back then. I still love the old world, and have many more stories to tell from it 🙂
I bought the first, and second edition digitally on Humble bundle some time ago. But i do love the edetion, I bought the collectors edetion, and the starter set was in the deal 🙂
How could you do a vid on WHFRP and not mention the Rat Catcher and his small (but vicious) dog?
?
looks a great questing pack.
I’d recently had some inspiration for a new D&D campaign, but now I think that this might be an even cooler idea. I may have to pick this up when I can piece together some spare cash. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Time to roll up a rat catcher and his small but vicious dog!
I already have the big book but you lads made this look grand …. Cubicle 7 need to put you on commission … I think I’ll toodle off and order this … such fun
Not a bad starter set. I like the idea that you progressby changing carreers and work your way towards a classic class.
Looks like the older 2nd? by Black? pre FFG which was one of the best RPGs ever.
