Privateer Press has released two new miniatures for those that enjoy Hordes and the Grymkin in particular. The first of these is the Piggyback Officer.

"Greed is the sin that gives rise to the Piggyback, and it is the most greedy and gluttonous who emerge in their ranks to be inflicted with their fattened leaders. Festooned with medals stolen from all manner of army officers, these torpid pigs delight in riding into battle to hack through the wicked.

Squealing imperiously to direct their subordinates, no outsider can comprehend their orders, yet the Piggybacks move with alacrity at his beck and call, trampling all enemies beneath their weight. Together they make a mockery of all disciplined mortal soldiers."

Once again, I am sold on the theme behind the Grymkin and how they have come to be. I love the idea that each of the models in their force focuses in on some sin or aspect of expanded folklore. I just don't think that it's really winning people over 'in' Warmahordes, at least from what I've heard.

The models are great looking though and I think it's a great way to allow folks to approach Hordes from a new direction and maybe even bring a few more people into the mix.

Death Comes Knocking

If you're hanging around the graveyard then maybe this new Grave Ghoul might also find its way into your collection.

"Grave ghouls have a morbidly playful attitude toward the dead, finding a fascination with corpses without truly understanding death. They are especially drawn to the fresh dead, and their actions resemble a shadow play of the undertakers from folktales.

They enjoy using their shovels to unearth bodies to display them to their peers or partially burying other grymkin before they have actually expired. Whether seen driving Death Knell wagons or searching among old battlefields, grave ghouls are creepily terrifying and quite dangerous if confronted. They are particularly aggravated by the undead, which they feel driven to return to a less animated existence."

Once again, a stunning new miniature for the Grymkin which does exactly as you might imagine, feeding on folklore and those taken during the night. I think this would be superb to paint up, playing around with the same purples and blacks that they have used here.
