FFG’s Star Wars: Legion Paint Sets Bring Colour To The Galaxy
May 11, 2019 by dracs
Fantasy Flight Games are helping you to add a bit of colour to the galaxy far, far away as they release three paint sets for Star Wars: Legion.
The first of these sets is the Core Paint Set.
The Core Paint Set features eighteen colours, including two washes, and two paint brushes, making it a good place to get started with painting your armies.
If you want to expand your paints range and specialise it a bit for your armies, FFG also have the Imperial Paint Set and the Rebels Paint Set.
Altogether, these sets provide you with thirty-four paints with which to capture the vibrant characters of Star Wars.
Will you add any of these sets to your paint collections?

Very probably. My paint selection is a haphazard collection,so these 3 faction themed sets will be ideal in keeping the faction colours in my head ( describing my painting speed as glacial is me being generous ).
No, will not. Simply because most of those paints I already have (from one brand or another) plus they are just rebranded Army Painter pots. (Army Painter did Runewars Sets and also shared posts about this on facebook so this is a strong hint… plus “Strong Tone Wash” and the bottle design ;)) That said these set’s are reasonably priced and I guess when the new core set come around those will be picked up as a one stop solution. Core set, paint set and a tube of superglue and you’re ready to roll…. and some spray primer… maybe some… Read more »
I have the Army Painter Mega Set, (which won the pristigous Beasty Award), so I think I’m covered. BUT……I will recommend these paint sets to anyone new to ‘Star Wars: Legion’ as it is an easier way of getting color down on your minis if your the kind of hobbyist that panics over color selection.
But I wouldn’t rule out myself ever buying these. If I need to restock some colors from my set, I could see snagging one or more of these sets.??
Army Painter paints have served me well for sometime now.
Should it not be dark side (imperial) and light side (rebels)?
I’ll stick with The Army Painter (I also picked up the Mega set). I don’t see a reason for me to buy the same paints with rebranded names. I have a hard enough time repeating color recipes using standard names in my notes. I also use a lot of Vallejo and have found several interesting brands through the Asset Drop service (https://www.assetdrop.co/) the product from Scale 75 is wonderful but very expensive to get here.
