Warlord Games are reaching dizzying new heights with their latest set of Blood Red Skies releases!
The heavens becomes a battleground with these latest F4U Corsair Squadron and Ace Fighters, ready to take the fight back to the enemy forces in Blood Red Skies!
The F4U Corsair was an adept WWII plane with an 11:1 overall kill ratio, and flew in over 40% of U.S. fighter sorties (with only 15% of those occurring from carrier decks). And with a total of over 60,000 operational sorties flown for the U.S. Navy & Marines, the F4U Corsair is an iconic WWII plane.
Warlord Games' F4U Corsair Squadron includes 6 metal F4U Corsairs, aircraft cards (including trait cards). double-sided pilot skills discs, generic U.S. waterslide decals, and advantage flying bases!
As if that wasn't enough, Warlord Games have also announced two new Corsair Aces taking to the skies to battle against the enemy forces.
Lieutenant, Junior Grade) Philip Leroy Kirkwood was awarded the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism in operations against the enemy. Flying the F4U Corsair with the Grim Reapers (VF-10) from the USS Intrepid (CV-11) Kirkwood took part in strikes against the Ryukyu Islands, Kyūshū, Okinawa and Wake Island, downing 8 enemy aircraft bringing his tally to 12.
Major Gregory “Pappy” Boyington (Medal of Honor, Navy Cross) learnt his deadly trade during a year’s tour in China as a member of the 1st American Volunteer Group (The Flying Tigers). upon returning to the US, In 1943, he was charged to take a group of twenty-seven young men and form the new Marine Attack Squadron 214.
VMA214 (Black Sheep) would earn its reputation and the Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism in action under Pappy’s command; fighting for 84 days achieving a record 203 Japanese planes destroyed or damaged, produced nine fighter aces with 97 confirmed air-to-air kills (22 by Boyington), several troop transports and supply ships sunk, destroyed many installations, in addition to numerous other victories.
If that offering isn't enough to leave your head in the clouds, Warlord Games have also announced their USAAF expansion pack, bringing a new selection or Airforce cards and profiles to the game!
The set includes 6 new aircraft cards, trait cards, 3 Theatre cards, 3 Doctrine cards, and 2 new equipment cards!

BLACK SHEEP SQUAAADRON! FTW! Loved that show.
Love Corsairs just wish they weren’t metal. Still, it’s nice to see more Pacific war aircraft.
The corsairs are stunning….
Oh well… I’ll have some in 1/200… that’ll complete nicely the ones I have in 1/300 and 1/600 I suppose.
