Mantic Enters Final Weekend Of Xtreme DreadBall Kickstarter!
March 15, 2014 by brennon
Mantic Games are closing in on the last couple of days for their DreadBall Xtreme Kickstarter. Check out the big box of goodies below as well as a little taster of some of the extras that are being thrown around.
As you can see it's quite a lot in the basic boxed game that they have as a reward and on top of a multitude of different extras including paints, extra bits and pieces and of course teams we also have things like their MVPs.
That is quite the roster of star players and all looking to become part of your collection. Blaine has shown his face alongside some epic figures like Asylum and that bad ass Excavator which is clearly the big daddy.
What level have you pledged at?

We were avoiding playing Dreadball to focus more on Deadzone but then Mantic goes ahead and makes it irresistible to jump in. DAMN YOU MANTIC is now our battle cry as our monies slip away 🙂
The Mantic Madness really kicks in over the final hours (I have been there on a few of their KS already). And now Judge Dredd is joining Dreadball! How appropriate is that? 🙂
Very cool.
Did they announce who won the free Crystallan team yet?
I’ll be announcing that tomorrow @privateer4hire

It didn’t finish as high as many of us were expecting (lots of good KS on the go at the moment, plus the CMoN one finished less than 12 hours before), but there are still a tonne of awesome new minis and rules heading our way!!!
Hmmm… I really need to start getting through some more painting from the last DB and DZ KSs 😉
The total went down about $5k at the end as some people decided to spread their payments using the post KS survey(s). To be fair, for anyone who finances are tight (for whatever reasons) that is very understandable. On the other hand, it leaves the heavy lifting to those who pledge and pay up front, so maybe that should be recognised in future – larger and up front pledges should have some (small) exclusive benefits over and above the smaller, and most definitely over the later-paying pledges. Even 1 or 2 minis. Nothing bank-breaking. Just a recognition. But Mantic run… Read more »
Interesting to see how the kickstarter played out. Massive up-front loading of pledges, taking advantage of the sweet spot deals as I see it, compared to other KS campaigns. I guess that comes from all the understanding of the game that standard Deadzone has generated. On the other hand, the lack of a final day crazy peak perhaps came from the nature of the game – being more of a board game than a traditional wargame there was less incentive to add to your initial pledge, unlike, say Deadzone, where there was always the temptation to get more terrain or… Read more »
