Hero Forge Offer New Posing Options For Your Miniatures
April 20, 2019 by brennon
Hero Forge is now offering a lot of advancing posing options for those building their heroes for role-playing games and beyond.
As well as the standard options available for each of your characters in the game you can now twist and tweak their heads, arms, torsos, hands and more. These can then be 3D printed by the team at Hero Forge in a range of different materials (see above).
Whilst the plastic option (far right) is their cheapest option I think that if you're ever going in on this you should go for the Premium Plastic approach as it delivers the cleanest finish for the price.

You can see some final results of people's work on Hero Forge models below...
This work on both this Sci-Fi and Fantasy hero (below) shows off just what you can do with the range of different options as part of the Hero Forge program. John has even picked up a miniature from these folks in the past and he very much enjoyed the final result.
White Crow Studios are responsible for the painting here. I now really, really want to pick up a few miniatures from this collection!

Those look really nice.
Have a couple, few, several of the black plastic miniatures. Love the detail. The biggest thing I have learned from working with the mini creator UI, is to watch how you size the the height and body proportions. A couple of mine are too big for historical games, but perfect for heroic scale games. It is some trial and error, but if you have a 3D printer the STL files are a great deal.
Got my first Hero Forge mini just this week (apparently it’s difficult to find a skinny, bald Dwarf monk with very little beard off the shelf…), and have to say I’m impressed. The creator on the website is a lot of fun just to play with, and I’m really imoressed by the quality of the mini that arrived – the details have come out really well, and very little sign of print lines etc. I’ve only tried the premium (Black) plastic, but definitely happy with the results. International shipping is a bit pricey if you’re only ordering 1 mini, so… Read more »
they are really good figures a friend got a couple to a friend in the US just before he visited him. I have designed a couple but you are looking at doubling the cost to ship to UK and I guess we would have to pay import as well. I did think of getting the STL files they cost the same as getting them to make, but im strangling to find someone local to do a print.
The mini I got was printed by Shapeways in Holland, so shouldn’t have to worry about customs/import fees (for now at least…). Still costs $15 for international post though, so it works out a bit expensive for just one mini.
