Recreate Great WWII Battles With Blitzkrieg Commander IV
April 10, 2019 by cassn
Following Salute 2019 last weekend, Pendraken Miniatures have this week released their new rulebook for Blitzkrieg Commander IV. Blitzkrieg Commander is a highly successful and exciting wargame that allows you to recreate the battles of the Second World War on the tabletop!
Blitzkrieg Commander IV retains the BCIII while demonstrating a natural evolution from earlier rulesets. This new design will allow players to choose between a formal higher-level game - similar to BCI and BCII - or a more granular game, which resembles elements of a skirmish or 1:1 level game.
Blitzkrieg Commander IV uses a simple command system to create scenarios suitable for any scale miniatures. With 44 army lists, 15 scenarios for any nation and theatre, and minimal setup time, Blitzkrieg Commander IV has everything you need to play WWII games in one book!
Among the many changes is an enhanced and expanded Reconnaissance section, making reconnaissance a much more integral part of the game. Snipers have also been introduced to the battlefield, along with changes to the rulesets for Infantry Anti-Tank weapons, Artillery Barrage, and Naval Guns.
Scenarios have been reworked and clarified, and a new Tactical Doctrine has been added for Guerrillas/Partisans, with additional features which make insurgency and resistence-style games possible.
Blitzkrieg Commander IV is available in both physical and PDF format, so whether you are a long time BC player, or just getting into the game, head on over and check it out now!
Are you an established fan of Blitzkrieg Commander? What do you think of the game?

sounds good.
Never played but I would like to try them out.
I’ll be grabbing a set of these to see how they play..who knows it may mean a new army and system for me
There are a few questions on the Pendraken forum and elsewhere online about some items missing from the army lists but an errata should be coming soon to rectify the issue
I was looking at the starter armies on the Pendraken website yesterday… so tempting.

A suitable FOW replacement?
Different type of game. Dont expect a mass of special rules and army books with special doctrine rules.
So, better then? 🙂
What I suppose I meant was about the basing – is it directly transferable?
Yeah you can use what ever basing you want. The games give recommended base sizes but use what you have
To be fair, BKC I and II already allowed to play having each stand/vehicle as a platoon or a squad/single vehicle.
I loved the game (indeed the system, as there’s a modern and a sci-fi game also) and already have this version, as I had bought BKC III. Will be trying it out sometime over the next month or so.
