Unboxing: Blood Rage
April 10, 2019 by dignity
Justin and Gerry unbox the end of the nine realms in Blood Rage from CMON.
The guys take a look at Blood Rage under the camera with somebody's knowledge of Norse Mythology getting a little refresher. Whilst Gerry threatens to burn down Yggdrasil, Justin takes a look at the superb details on the minis for Blood Rage.
If you had to banish your mortal enemy to one of the nine realms which would it be and why?

The models look good and decent quality.
not mine….
Great game. Played it a few times after buying it for myself as a Christmas present. Fantastic miniature design and a really great update to the mechanics from Chaos In The Old World – perfect area control game which has a good weight to it. I would say that there are some better ways to play the game than others though so it’s not without its faults. Following the path of Loki is seriously powerful and easier to make work compared to others like Thor or Heimdall. In saying that, I won the last game we played thanks to playing… Read more »
I added a splash of colour to highlight leaders banner as sometimes in the heat of battle you could lose them on the board. Same with the Mystics.
I’d like to paint them properly, but right now I have a sea of GW plastic to wade through, so my skirmish figures are getting priority.
Was surprised to see the unboxing with how old this game is… I backed the kickstarter which was delivered years ago. The bonus figures in the KS were nice to have as extras.
This is a problem I have, some friends just don’t like being attacked or attacking. Sucks that 5th player is separate though.
I’m intrigued by the first player token: the horn. Are there mechanics for who gets the horn? Do you just hand it round to the next player in a circle, or are there events cards where you can pull it off another player? Hoping the explanatory app covers it in more detail, or you can explain it in a playthrough where you give Gerry the horn.
Fun game and the minis are nice and easy to paint.
This game is great. I’ve played it many times with different people and always have fun.
One of my all time favourites 🙂
Spartacus is up there as well.
Requested this for Christmas a couple of years ago, and really enjoyed it. The minis are great, the big monsters are particularly intimidating if you can recruit them for your clan. The actions are straightforward to learn but allow great choices to keep it interesting.
more lovely for death and honer vikings
great looking figures.
So many boxed games with miniatures have come out over the years that i’d forgotten just how nice these were / are. I’ve only played the game a couple of times (in a single playing session), but really loved it. My friends and I were also very impressed with how easy the rule book was to follow. I didn’t follow the typical advice of read the rules in advance of playing, so was pleasantly surprised to find that we were able to get a really good game out of just following the rulebook as we went along. And yes, I’d… Read more »
This game looks awesome! Too bad the mrs banned me from buying more games with “plastic toy army men” for the foreseeable future.
