Malifaux’s New Decks Plays With Fate

Wyrd have released two new print-on-demand Fate Decks now available from DriveThruRPG featuring fan-created art.

The Pixel Deck goes for a retro feel, answering the age-old question, "How would Malifaux have looked on SNES?"

I really love this deck. I'll admit to being a sucker for anything retro style like this. However, it has got me wanting an old turn-based style RPG set in Malifaux. How cool would that be?!

The second deck is the less salubrious Saloon Deck.

This one I'm rather in two minds about. There are some really strong female characters in Malifuax, and the idea of turning those characters into pin-up art does not sit well with me. Plus, with all their running around, fighting, and getting caught up in world-ending shenanigans, when would they have had the time to pose?

However, the art for them is good and the saloon style does fit well with Malifaux's frontier town aesthetic. You could imagine this would be an in-world deck some huckster might try to sell you while you read your Penny Dreadfuls about life on the other side of the breach.

Which of these two decks would you trust your fate to?
