Quick Look: 3D Printable Terrain
April 5, 2019 by dignity
Warren and Justin show off the latest fruits of their 3D printing adventures from a currently running Kickstarter for Omicron Industrial Sector terrain.
These printable terrain pieces from Eskice Miniature produce a diverse 28mm scale collection of scenery for your sci-fi tabletop games.
There are only 10 days left as of writing so if you like the look of these pieces you'll need to get in quick.
Which games would you play on this set?

Jumped in, can’t go wrong with just having a bunch of STLs to print at will, and using the lock system means it will play nice with others.
Love the 3D printing updates.
haha love that @warzan forgot he is now a GW stockist 😀
Geee, vimeo is a PITA again…. why are they so slow on delivery of content? I must do some digging here
The bot definitely has Sentinel Style arms
Is it wrong that the main reason I’d want to get into 3D printing is the hours I could spend sanding things and trying to fix minor imperfections?
did anybody else notice the naughty language throughout the video? (hint: behind the monitor!!)
looking fabulous prints they would be great as heavy IG walkers @warzan
fwiw, If you’re looking for generic fantasy terrain, some free, check out DriveThruRPG. Not sure how much sf stuff is there, though!
Ain’t got a printer yet. This is a subject I would love to get into, but is it there yet? Can I print figurers? I would love if there was software to manulipate limbs and to swop weapons. I mean to change a roman stabbing with a gladius, to a space marine (Tm) with a sniper rifle using standard parts library.
I got a Prusa i3 Mk3 clone (Tronxy) off eBay for the massive total of £120. The print quality – for the price – is incredible; almost Ultimaker standard (I took some of my prints to the local Eagle Lab and it was difficult to tell the two apart). Within two days of getting it working, I’d learned how to use simple boolean operations in Blender to modify existing .stl files to do exactly what you’re talking about; it’s not *that* difficult 😉 For minis, FDM machines aren’t quite there yet, for terrian (with a bit of filling and sanding)… Read more »
Check out https://www.heroforge.com/ you can print minis with an FDM printer but if you’re after quality minis go for resin.
FDM for terrain resin for minis 🙂
You can glue PLA just fine with model kit glue. I tend to use uhu model kit for my 3D prints.
