It was announced today that GW have successfully trademarked the words War and Hammer and the number 40000. In future the use of these words and number when associated with gaming or modelling material will have to be followed by the ™ sign. GW also announced they would be collecting a fee each time these words or the number is used in print or via electronic media

The new ruling will come in to effect on 01/04/19

They have also Obtained a Copyright on the Letter K and are currently in litigation with K-Mart and Special K.

Shouldn’t the Salvation Army have a go at the over Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Warcry. The War Cry has been their magazine name for donkeys years!

This is getting extremely ridiculous. So now they have trademarked common words and even letter. That shouldn’t even be legal but apparently it is. It’s both extremely petty and greedy as well as just another way to stomp competition. This is why I keep saying that people shouldn’t defend GW because we don’t own them anything and they keep doing things like these.

I think @torros wins the best news of the day prize. I wonder if Games Workshop has received any feedback on this.

Well played , torros  , it’s a great April fools joke . The scary part is , that if they really could , I’m sure GW would try to trademark those letters and numbers . Hope you haven’t given them any ideas …
