I can understand why they haven’t gone for HIPS with this and why they probably never will. Like I said, metal is a point of pride for CB and if I am honest I actually can’t fault them. Because of the large scale switch to plastic and resin, metal miniatures really feel like a “premium” product now, especially in the sci-fi/fantasy market. Couple that with high quality sculpts and you have a very desirable product. It’s not a great choice for a dungeon Crawler if you want mass appeal but it can work in a more “boutique” product. And if it proves successful then there’s business decisions to be made about whether they would be prepared to move away from metal to give the game even wider appeal, which is what Post Industrial Games did when they went back to Kickstarter with the Human Interface sequel game (although they retained the option for people to upgrade to metal).
