Warlord Games has a new boxed set on the way for Black Powder called Roger's Rangers!

Black Powder Roger's Rangers - Warlord Games

This introduces a band of soldiers from the French Indian War that served with the British. Adopted as a rapid, light infantry force that was tasked with reconnaissance they were also embroiled with special missions, often against targets which were out of reach of the main arm of the military.

These soldiers were remarkably effective and they became the chief scouting arm of the British forces by the end of the 1750s.

Robert Rogers, leader of this band, would later ask to serve alongside the Americans in the War Of Independence but would be denied by General George Washington who feared that he was a spy. Rogers then changed his allegiance and joined up with the British forming the Queen's Rangers and then the King's Rangers.

This new set will offer up soldiers from the French Indian War though, ranging through the woods to hunt down important targets.

What do you think of the set?

"These soldiers were remarkably effective and they became the chief scouting arm of the British forces by the end of the 1750s..."
