The next shop is a Caupona or Inn or actually it is Stephanus Caupona. Stephanus Caupona called O Lauri, Togam or The Laurels and Toga, is open for business. Using only the finest ingredients of the Empire and supporting his fellow traders, Stephanus has a reputation for good honest, wholesome food at a decent price. I hope you enjoy it.
As before I laid off the layout of the shop before I started painting it as i wanted to know and get the feel for the place. The Iron Gate Scenery prints really make this easy to do and you can create little stories of why this is here and that is there. I think in some way I love this part and it fires me up to move onto the next.
I simply painted the items and as before glues them down to the floor so I can take out and place the whole scene somewhere else. I am really enjoying this.
As you can see I have swapped the hoardings about as I think they look better that way and Stephanus and Vincentius are now brothers.
