Become King Of The Sea In WizKids’ Flotilla
March 25, 2019 by brennon
WizKids has announced another new strategy game for you to get your teeth into. Flotilla is on the horizon and has you surviving out on the high seas in a post-apocalyptic world.
You are playing as one of the Fleet Commanders who has taken refuge on this floating haven. In the game, you'll find yourself exploring new aspects of the ocean, salvaging things to help add to the flotilla and gaining influence with the different governing guilds.
Your goal in the game is to become the most influential figure in the development of the flotilla and lead civilisation into a new era. Sounds pretty cool although we've all see Waterworld.
One of the key aspects of Flotilla is the two distinct modes of play. You begin the game as a Sinksider, exploring for resources but can soon turn Skyside where you work at expanding the flotilla and taking on a whole different system of mechanics for the rest of the game. I have a feeling deciding when to flip and go Skyside is going to be key to victory in this game.
Are you tempted by Flotilla?

someone made a game of waterworld? wasn’t the movie bad enough?
but to be fair… i know nothing about the game. as long as the rules are not as bad as the acting in the movie… it should be fine
To be fair that Nintendo Virtual Boy game based on that movie is even worse.
At least the games doesn’t have Kevin Costner in it 😉
this may be a fun change?
The concept for this game actually sounds really cool, i’m looking forward to seeing more from this title as it develops.
As for Waterworld, CULT CLASSIC!, don’t go hatin’ on Waterworld, i loved it! if you don’t take it seriously and just watch it for what it is and what it was trying to put across it was an awesome film!
Don’t let me catch anyone here hatin’ on The Postman either or there’s going to be serious trouble!!!! 😉
As long as we live without Dances with Gophers or that space film Dances with Blue People I think it’ll all be good
Obviously we all have different tastes, but I really hate kevin tosser films…

I know it has been done before but this setting seems to fit perfect for this type of mechanic. It is a press your… Read more »
Reminds me a little of deciding when to retire your civilisation in Small World. Not overly the same but I like the concept of trying to get a little more out of something before it collapses.
Nuts to Waterworld. Get your hands on a copy of the book ‘The Scar’ by China Mieville and then you’ll have a great time in thinking over what kind of situation you’ll have for this game. It features a whole setting of what this game is with a butt ton of districts with various personalities to each.
