Games Workshop has announced that this coming weekend will see more Chaos Space Marines dropping to join their traitor brothers in Warhammer 40,000. Bringing the big guns we have the new Havocs.

The new Havocs here are certainly looking a little beefier by the standards of the old Chaos Space Marines, more likely to actually carries these big weapons into battle. I particularly liked that they are using some of the old style of heavy weapon, especially when it comes to the rocket launchers!

Of the whole group though I think my vote has to go towards the chap with the reaper chaincannon/autocannon at the back. I could imagine him on a diorama base surrounded by spent ammunition as Tyranids are pouring forward and piling up in a heap of corpses before him.

Their leader looks pretty vicious too, even if he is just there to take a wound or two (I know he's probably a lot more useful in the new edition...).

Slow & Purposeful

As well the Havocs lighting up the sky with their heavy weapons we also have the walking tanks of Warhammer 40,000 getting an upgrade. Here we have the new Chaos Space Marine Terminators.

Armed with an array of hefty and brutal weapons, making good use of their combi-bolters as well, these Chaos Terminators look a bit more animated than their pre-existing brothers in arms. I think they've made them step in a line a little better with the existing loyalist terminators and made them feel a little meaner too!

I could see these fellows plodding forward, stomping through the dead and whatever ruins stand in their way, ready to get stuck in and cleave their enemies in two.

The set comes with a wide range of possible weapon options for close combat as well as fighting at range. I always liked the idea of Terminators as close combat monsters, dropping in and going to town on their foes.

As someone pointed out, the addition of things like loincloths and such here for the Terminators helps to break up the lines a bit and make them feel a tad more natural. I would have to agree.

What do you think of the new sculpts?
