Warhammer 40,000 Unboxing: Primaris Reivers
March 25, 2019 by dignity
Are the Primaris Reivers secretly undercover heretics or tactical terror troops striking fear into the enemies of the Emperor?
Able to deploy behind enemy lines and use grapnel launchers to ignore vertical terrain, this squad can instigate unexpected assaults on the enemy.
The models can be assembled as either a ten-man squad, a squad of nine Reivers with a Sergeant or two separate five-man squads, each with a Sergeant of their own.
Does anyone else want to fire a grapnel launcher as a weapon in a Scorpion from Mortal Kombat-esque manoeuvrer?

Bought a Reivers box last week, really like them a lot. I just started building them and will be putting magnets in them so I can use both weapons option, next thing is to think about grav-chutes or grapnel launcher. Right now I’m tending towards the grav-chutes.
Ok, I get why they did the guy with the grappling hook on the box the way that they did… but is it just me or does it look totally silly? If I were to build there I’d cut the cord and glue the hook right onto the gun.
There are two guns with the hook unfired already in the box.
Jerry is just great to listen too. These with the Shadowspear box guys are tempting me to get in to that new Space Marine Goodness.
no, this is Space Marine Badness.
The lack of skulls and imperial eagles means that they’re traitors … it is indeed very obvious.
😉
Optimum level of skullocity -Gerry 2019
You get a lot of extra helmets do used some of the spares to customise my Raven Guard Killteam with my heavier Intecessors having the same helmet.
I’m glad GW decided to make Space Marines bigger. Having a Marine the same height as a Guardsman kind of diminished their 9 foot tall super human image.
I’m with Gerry on this, Primaris Chaos Marines!
resisting very hard to get trademark marines as i have a back log of plastic
The thing about 40k is that there are no good guys. Imperium are basically genocidal nazis (and they even share the eagle badge). Everyone else is tainted, insane, or both.
Pagan8th has a point – this is 40K, you don’t have to be Chaos tainted to use ruthless, murderous terror troops there. In any other setting, the Imperium would be the villains of the piece, though then again that is also true of basically every other faction in 40K. The tagline ‘there are no good guys’ is not just for show in this universe.
Finally someone who sees the primaris and Guilliman for what they really are!!!!
We do need to see the bases….
I am with Gerry on this one in so far as there is much to be suspicious about in these new “Primaris” Marines!
Horus was the favored son beloved by all and with the respect if not complete love of his own brothers, with the galaxy at his feet he still fell to the pull of chaos!
Robute is not immune!
We of the Inquisition are watching VERY carefully!
Nice looking mini though 🙂
I actually really like the Reivers! I have heard a lot of back and forth over the skull helms, but I love them!
The first unit I built were built with the carbines as I just love the look of them. That for me comes above usefulness in game! The guys using the carbine’s fore-grip are just class!
I’m with Gerry with this. Actually I don’t really care which seemed about the same level of Gerry’s enthusiasm for them
I still don’t feel sold on the “skull” masks. The minis look great – apart from those faces…
Oh Gerry the master conspiracy tactician.
I have too many old marines may get some eventually, chaos is everywhere so you never know where the pre Alpha marines get to? if someone got the Primarchs well no-one is safe.
Having the data sheet in the chaos marine box is great, just tare it off and use it in game.(add notes at will)
The skull mask look is sick.
While some people seem to like those skull masks to me those are worst part of these miniatures. We have seen so much better and less cartoony looking skull masks from GW and FW than those.
Gerry might be onto something there! Very suspicious!
Great banter on this video!
I’m with Gerry – Robot Girliman is hiding something….
Would GW really sell you loads of these knowing they are going to have them all switch faction later? Seems a bit cruel and likely to lose them customers if they can’t use their toys 6 months later.
It would be naive to think that they wouldn’t do that if they thought it was best move for making profit and that they actually care about they current and old customers when getting new ones is far more important to them. If you ever visit Warhammer Store you will notice how they are all about getting new customers and selling those products while current and new ones tend to get cold shoulder for knowing what they want.
But who would be a new customer knowing their purchases can instantly be “taken away” from them? Changing stuff between editions is one thing, but after a few monthis is quite another.
