About the Project
The local GW store ran their anniversary painting contest. Rules were simple in that all you needed to do was roll on a random list of chapters and paint a Primaris within the time period. Here is the step I took to paint this Marine Errant.

The Painting Process
First steps for this marine was to prime the whole thing black. I left the helmet, backpack, and gun unglued to assist with painting. After the primer was cured I proceeded to block out the major highlights.
For reference with this process I went back and forth placing the mini under my painting light to see what shined the most.
Next I proceeded to paint up the white part of the armor. The head and arm went on very nicely with the brush. I attempted the same process with the rest starting with the backpack. After some frustrating hours that plan was scrapped and I took to the airbrush.
The blue half was masked off using masking putty and I blocked in the other half using my base color. All of the blue side was done with a brush and blending using the layer technique.
Last steps
The last steps to finish off the painting was a test of NMM gold for the shoulders and chest. Gun red was a simple bit of layering to highlights. Tying the whole project together was some added texture in the form of scratches and chips for the whole piece. This also helps hide all your crimes.
