"Rifles to Me"

Let's Start with the Crowd Favourite. They were called The Grasshoppers, The Sweeps and The Rifles. The Men of the 95th Rifles Have Certainly Cemented Themselves in the History of the Napoleonic Wars Possibly more than any other Regiment.

I seem to have collected quite a few 28mm Riflemen so I thought I should start there.

I started by spraying them with Army Painted White Undercoat Spray.

Here we see a Rifle Officer Directing his Men to Harass the Enemy while in Cover. It was an Art Learned by their Parents and Grandparents in the Forests of North America

Modern Re-enactors. Here we can see Depictions of Rifle Uniforms that the Scheme will be Based on.

On the left is a Rifle Officer. Note the Leather Reinforces Breeches, Pelisse (Tight Fitting Jacket Worn Slung on the Shoulder like a Hussar), Red Sash that Denotes an Officer, Curved Sabre used by Flank Companies and Light Infantry and the Black Shoulder Strap that has a Whistle in it for Signalling. Centre: Rifleman. The Black Facings (Cuffs and Collar) Mean that this Rifleman is a Member of the 95th Rifles. The 60th Royal Americans would have Red Facings. Right: Sergeant. Notice the Same Red Sash as the Officer but with a Black Section, the Colour of the Regiment's Facings. Also Note that the NCO wears a Rank only on the Right Arm. This was also True of the Famous "Chosen Men" who Wore a White Band on the Right Arm. Also Note that the Enlisted Men have Cheaper Wool Tufts on their Shako's while the Officer has a more Expensive Feather Tuft.

Here we can see a Close up of the Famous Sword Bayonet that the Rifles used Rather than a Pig Sticker like the Regular Infantry.
