March 7, 2019 by cassn
Cass, Ryan, and Mel from The Terrain Tutor get together to have a look at the best Indie games this week, plus a massive terrain giveaway from LOOTgames!
This week, Cass is joined by The Terrain Tutor as they look at an STL sci-fi terrain kit from LOOTgames which has us wishing for a dystopian future. Next, Cass bravely goes where no-one can hear you scream as she explores solo-play psychological horror Ghost Star. Finally, Cass is joined by sexy-sea-maiden Ryan, as they listen for the Sound of Sirens in a new strategy card game!

Well for me the best piece of the terrain certainly the reactor 🙂
The take away horror from todays indie Thursday is not the Ghost Star game but the idea of Ryan as a Sexy sea maiden….:-0
Hi Mel nice to see you back.
Very cool looking terrain, you can really see that the terrain design in the world of 3D printing is definitely going up a gear.
I remember when i was about 6 years old having a nightmare where me and DJ Cat (Anybody remember that character from their childhood?) were trying to escape from this weird castle full of baked bean monsters that were made by these witches with cement mixers filled with baked beans that they throw at you. If you got touched by one you became a baked bean monster…..i was six, it was terrifying!
Is this the DJ Kat you mean?

If so, think so vaguely, although mostly because I think that’s where I first saw the G1 The Transformers cartoon.
Yes that is the very one. At the time i was living in Catalunya so i got the English and Spanish versions in my childhood!
Love the look and size of the power towers and that cooling tower/reactor is amazing. Could make good use of that sandwich shop as well.
I do like the power towers, they could work in so many games. Also have the option to vary the design and no of floors means that they don’t all look the same.
Mel! Hi Mel! MEEEL! My favorite from the sets is the Radio Tower Playset
My favorite terrain are the post-apocalyptic shacks. They’re perfect for Fallout Wasteland Warfare, and the command center would make a great objective piece.
Ghost Star sounds rather interesting but I’m saving for HMGS Cold Wars so I’ll have to pass but I hope they succeed and either do a second print or make it to LGS distribution level. The 3d printed files are nice, still need them to come down in price but I agree the files are getting more detailed and people are finding more ways to intelligently add more and more with each new release. I would love to have the reactor or the “Roach” for the rpg possibilities.
Really like the ruined buildings. Very nice.
the terrain would be good for the Thing game? ghost star sounds good also.
I’d have to say the hangers are what caught my eye and attention.
The Saviour Pod looks like a nice piece as does the big radar/comms dish. The big refinery sounds like it’d be a great centrepiece for Necromunda. Side note, if the biggest dimension is a foot long, then implicitly the biggest area would be 1’x1’, so that’d be 1/9th of a 3’x3’, not 1/3rd. 😉 Nightmares – random thought, would a masochist’s nightmare be positive things like being comforted, or someone with epically low self esteem’s be being loved, ? To be pedantic for a moment, wouldn’t Ryan be a merman, not a mermaid? ?. Also, from the sounds of it… Read more »
Reactors are nice but the Laboratory is good enough for me if the stretch goal isn’t met. It reminds me of some building found in an abandoned Japanese theme park. Then again the shacks and sandwich shop are definitely pieces that I could have some major fun weathering and busting out the crackle medium for my paints.
hope you have a great holiday!
the Lab is so pulp syfy that painted well, would fit both fall out and or infinity
sound of sirens looks like a game i could play with my daughter, possible with added background music.
I especially like the power towers and hangars the best. The whole range looks amazing but those two could fit the best into an Infinity table I’m planning.
Honestly I think the hangers are going to be super useful for loads of games… I must have them
I agree @CommodoreRob the reactor is the best piece of terain
After getting some printablescenery stl files, i’m a convert to the quality that is now being produced, loved this set and want the hangar layout for a good old 7TV Bond scenario.
I really like the hangars. Sure, they’re not as eye-catching as the more unusually shaped pieces like the reactors, but those walls look great, and the playable space makes them really impressive.
Another good sci fi terrain set. There have been a nuch of 3 D terrin file kickstarters recently that show great quality.
I love the Power Towers. The Reactor has the potential to be a really awesome centerpiece on the table though.
Love that terrain, always like terrain that its easy to play inside in as well
The Roadside Sandwich shop!
Definitely the roadside sandwich shop!
