@mage so, it isn’t built into the core box of Gloomhaven. I’m not actually sure of the source, but it wasn’t house-ruled/ homebrewed… I’ll ask Steve and let you know!
@limburger “Now if only those flocking houses didn’t have the insane pricing.”
I hear you on that one!
@robert happy to share!
Lately I’ve done it like this:
Base: Spray with Dark Angel green. Or Caliban Green it is now, I think…
Wash with Black. Whatever the current Citadel Black wash is… Badab Black? I’m still using Citadel inks… from the 80’s!!
Highlight 1: Mix approx 2 parts Dark Angel Green to 1 part Goblin Green.
I apply very thin highlights to higher edges of the helmet, armour plates etc. In the pauldrons I hit the uppermost curve and the corner at the front.
Highlight 2: Reverse the ratios of DA Green to Goblin Green (So now 1:2) and apply thinner, smaller highlights.
Basically that’s it. If I feel that they’re too bright, I’ll give them another thin glaze of the black, but really thinned down so it just sort of blends the layers together and dulls them a little, bit not too much!
@horati0nosebl0wer oh now that’s a cool tool! It would make it a hell of a lot easier and neater to paint the check patterns…
Yeah, it would be easy to get carried away on the detail on them, especially if you look at the art work for the old Adeptus Titanicus and Space Marine. The old Titans were covered in heraldry and iconography
