Evade Creepy Kids In Japanese Horror Game Hako Onna
March 1, 2019 by cassn
The scary men arrived. My father, in a panic, pushed me down into a way-too-small box. I heard my bones snap, but dared not scream. I heard angry voices…then nothing. Father never came back. I was left alone. That was a long time ago. I’m not alone anymore. Sometimes, people come play. I like to play hide and seek. When I tire of playing, I eat.
WizKids have announced they are releasing an English edition of the popular Japanese horror board game Hako Onna. In Hako Onna, one player takes on the role of an evil spirit hiding in a haunted house, out to kill any mortals who cross her path.
The house is made of nine tiles, and visitors have to search the building for items and keys which will help them escape or defeat Hako Onna. However, the humans are never safe, as Hako Onna moves in secret, hidden as an object in the room while the mortals keep their eyes closed.
The searchers only know where Hako Onna is when she screams, however, this also allows her to play a powerful action. The humans must also be stealthy, every move can add to the 'noise stack' and, should it tumble, Hako Onna immediately gets a turn!
Hako Onna will be arriving in stores in September 2019 but, in the meantime, you can check it out over on WizKids.
