great looking kit, I have 15 of these in my Team Yankee army at 15mm. In 15mm they did have a strange artifact with the bottom hull that needed to be filed down a lot before it would make proper contact with the upper hull.
20mm … Uhm…. a sort of X-Wing/TANKS variant?
Definitely use these for my Arab Israeli war collection, my collection of resin T-55s is showing its age and I want to expand with some new plastic kits. With this set I get three tanks for only a couple of quid more than a single Trumpeter or Revell kit and a lot easier to assemble quickly.
The people who do Rapid Fire did a modern version called Able Archer. Rapid fire was designed for 20mm so would work though they were released a while ago so not sure if there still available. Didn’t @piers mention something about a modern version of Battlegroup
Yep… all written too.
Iv’e built dozens of these in 15mm for Team Yankee. I found the hole in the hull for the turret pin needed scrapaing out slightly to allow the turret to not only turn freely, but to actually fit the hull. I also found that because this kit build so many variants, little details which would otherwise have normally been part of another piece, were all separate and very fiddly, especially at 15mm size.
But, overall, considering the price, it was a very good value for money kit.
How come John let Justin and Gerry preview this… I am guessing he had to be restrained with the OTT tape that was too sticky
As much as I love Gerry and Justin , please unchain John from his paint bench and have him assist in these tank unboxings .Those ” spare track links ” are turret wall mounted ammo boxes for the AA machine gun . The ” air filter ” is actually a snorkel which is mounted to the turret allowing the tank to cross a river under water !!! And those “head lights ” are2 variations of the infa- red spot / search light which is mounted on the main gun . Oh and between the T-54/55 (and the Chinese T-59 copy… Read more »
Nice looking kit, and nice to see 1:72 scale
tanks an no John ?
a nice tidy box kit.
I believe the book is called batrlegroup northag. Still not out though:)
As for the colour coding I’m not a fan, as the colours they have used a very difficult for colour blind people like myself, more contrasting colours would be much better
