Deep Cut Get Techie With New ALEPH Infinity Mat
February 13, 2019 by brennon
Deep-Cut Studio has designed a new mat for their collaboration with Corvus Belli. This time around we're seeing their ALEPH Mat for those getting stuck into games of Infinity.
The mat looks great as a representation of one of their very advanced city layouts, or a facility deep beneath the ground and/or in the depths of space. There are plenty of guidelines on the mat as to where you'd place terrain but I think the real winning aspect of this piece is how good it would look with clear based miniatures.
This is the joy of something like a mat. It won't work for every game out there but it will offer you a quick and stylish battlefield which should look good with most miniatures. Whilst I love the idea of clear bases for Infinity figures I do worry that maybe because it's so bright the figures might get lost in the patterns. Perhaps if the mat was a shade darker it might work better?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below folks...
What do you make of this mat and which faction would you like to see next?

I think you’d start to have problems even finding your minis on that mat. For wargaming the focus is the minis, then the terrain, then the mat (at least in my opinion). I think most new releases are trying too hard to add details that’s… Read more »
