I find it funny that they had to go through all this convoluted alterations in the lore and come up with genuine reasons why space marines got bigger and their armour changed. I remember when this was a space marine:
And then a decade later this was a space marine:
Me: Why?
GW: Dunno, i guess they had new armour made or something *shrug* looks cool though dunnit?
Me: yeah it does, you get a pass GW.
Moral of the story, if you want something changed just do it, then pretend that it was always like that and people will just accept it in time.
