A New Band Of V&V Miniatures Pagan Rus Get Ready For War
February 6, 2019 by brennon
V&V Miniatures has been adding to their growing Dark Age range with some new Pagan Rus. This new set of resin creations are available on their webstore now.
The figures are scaled for use in 28/32mm wargaming, each of them unique. I like this as it certainly adds more character to the force to the point where you could name each of them if you liked.
The set is also very nicely detailed so it should take paint very well. You've got plenty of room for brighter colours here too and those shields are a blank canvas for those looking to explore freehand work.
If you're looking to snap up the Pagan Rus the team at V&V Miniatures have been doing some great work over the past few years, developing a collection of characters and troops to serve them.
What do you think?

Finding these hard to resist.
Some how had a feeling you might.
Yeah @bobcockayne but the stances look a bit too wide to get them on a 1p.
But the stances are part of why the look epic.
@lloyd you could always splash out and go 2p or are they two big?
These look great, definitely great for getting some unique poses in a Saga warband
Rus filth, I’ll take a hair drier to them if I see them near a table @lloyd just so you know
@Gerry – well now you have short hair you need to find a use for it.
harsh
I still have my lost in the woods beard I can use it on
They have the usual boring foot on base look. I do wish sculptors could be more imaginative
They would look good as town guardsmen.
Those do look good.
I do think these scupts are pretty awesome, even if they seem a little pricy.
Its interesting to see Dark Age Slavic cultures get figures. Its interesting to find out about how fractured the world was politically. Skirmish historical gaming really gives some impetus to do reading.
Now thinking about how to throw a monkey wrench into historicals I’d say toss Aztecs against Romans or Zulu versus the Mongols. For the latter use an optional rule for something Gerry pointed out as to have a special move action treating the Zulu as cavalry for a set turn.
