The team from PvP Geeks has joined us to give a rundown of the game and talk more about the Kickstarter!

Skytear is a card-driven miniatures game inspired by MOBA video games from PVP Geeks.  It is a game for two or four players with games lasting around thirty to sixty minutes. Set up takes just two minutes and you'll be ready to go! It is designed to be played multiple times per night, giving you that “just-another-match” feeling at the end of each game.

In the first season, you can draft four heroes from twenty-four unique champions coming from four asymmetric factions. Check out the Pledge below showing off just what you get as part of the core game on Kickstarter.

Pledge - Skytear

Each faction has a unique gameplay mechanic and each hero has a unique set of skills and a 45mm scale miniature.

Gameplay

The eight chosen heroes will face each other on a hex-based arena with a streamlined action point system. Throughout the game, there will be a constant tension between attacking enemy heroes and pushing forward with your minions to control the two lanes of the arena.

At the start of every match, you will draw three random winning conditions that are shared between you and your opponent. There are ten different possible winning conditions; some are more aggressive, while others are about controlling key parts of the arena.

Combat is fully card driven, as there are no dice in Skytear and your hand of Power Cards is what makes the skirmish fights different and surprising. These are also special moves your heroes can perform anytime, even as a reaction to your opponent’s moves, there is essentially no downtime!

If you like, you can build your own deck of Power Cards for each of your heroes to customize them and create unexpected synergies and combos.

To keep the metagame fresh, we are planning two expansions per year and an online deck builder to balance cards retroactively without having to reprint anything. Our quest is to create a game you can enjoy every week for years, without getting tired of it.
