Greater Than Games Make You Superheroes In Sentinel Comics Kickstarter
January 30, 2019 by brennon
Greater Than Games are now on Kickstarter with Sentinel Comics: The Roleplaying Game. The Starter Set has already been out for a while but this project now looks to bring the rulebook to life alongside lots of other extras.
In the game, you will take on the role of superheroes from the Sentinel Comics universe or ones of your own devising, battling it out against nefarious villains with epic superpowers. The system is very simple and easy to get to know and we actually talked with Greater Than Games in a video below about the Starter Kit.
We also got to play the game in an introductory session at the UK Games Expo last year and loved it. We only got a few hours to play through the session but it was exceptionally good fun.
One of the neat things about the game was how certain powers and actions work. You can access them using the GYRO System which goes from green through to yellow and then finally red. Depending on your status at the time and the threat posed by your enemies, you'll get access to different actions and powers to make you feel epic even when you're down on your knees taking a beating.
Rules within the Core Rulebook govern this system as well as how to make characters, plan our stories as the Games Master, and of course, there are some cool additional options too like the GM Kit here below.
One of the cool things about the game was that it always felt like it was flowing narratively. Everything you did, from when you took your turns to how scenes developed, was natural and became more of a cooperative storytelling experience. As someone who loves story-driven roleplaying games, this one certainly got me rather excited.
It's worth going to check out more from the Kickstarter as they have already smashed through their funding goal and are looking to unlock more awesome content for the book and beyond.
Will you be checking this out?
