Lockhart
Lockhart is the next model finished. I was debating on painting him with the pale blue/violet robes when he was in the book store, but decided to go with the studio paint job.
Kingsley
So after a bit of a break Im back at it with the Harry Potter stuff. This time I was able to finish up Kingsley.
Dolores Umbridge
Dolores Umbridge all finished up in all of her evil pink.
Tonks
Tonks is all finished. Between the pink/purples and stripes just a great model to paint.
Snape
As with many of the other characters, Snape was fun to paint. The only thing that separates the blue from the cloak is 2 glazes of ink.
Sirius and padfoot
So up until this point every post was of something i finished a while ago.
Sirius just kind of came together for me when finding colors that looked similar to the film costume.
Mad-eye Moody and professor McGonagall
Learning from Hagrid’s overcoat, I feel like I really nailed the colors and process on Moody’s.
Troll
I had a lot of fun painting this dopey troll. Definitely got to put some color theory to the test. The skin a pale grey green and the shadows a desaturated red giving the skin just that little bit of life while still being in the fantasy realm.
Lord Voldemort
Voldemort was the third miniature I finished this year. Probably going to be one of the best if not best models I painted in 2019.
Bellatrix
Bellatrix was a blast to paint. I really feel the model captivates her chaotic nature.
Hagrid and Fang
So for Hagrid I really want to play with the worn look of the coat. In a later model (Mad-Eye Moody) I would get it a bit better.
Albus Dumbledore
Dumbledore was next. It was hard to decide which colors to paint his robe as you see him in a bunch of different ones. So a did this pale blue one that was inspired by one of the lighter colored ones.
Remus Lupin & Werewolf form
Remus and his Werewolf form. The Werewolf i did in some desaturated purples to give the odd sculpt more character
The Dementor
I did the dementor up with some desaturated reds to highlight the black.
The Weasley twins
The twins were next. I still dont know which one is meant to be Fred and which one is George
Harry, Hermione, and Ron
These 3 were all done at together. The thin glasses were definitely a pain to paint.
Dobby and Kreacher
Dobby and Kreacher were a bit of a change. I was happy with how Dobby’s eyes came out.
The Unicorn
The unicorn was next. Had a lot of fun blending the black to white and testing out some of the new tuffs I got at the time.
