About the Project

So at the end of 2018 I was commissioned to paint up a bunch of Harry Potter miniatures adventure game stuff. This log will display all of the finished models.

Lockhart is the next model finished. I was debating on painting him with the pale blue/violet robes when he was in the book store, but decided to go with the studio paint job.

As with many of the other characters, Snape was fun to paint. The only thing that separates the blue from the cloak is 2 glazes of ink.

So up until this point every post was of something i finished a while ago.

Sirius just kind of came together for me when finding colors that looked similar to the film costume.

Learning from Hagrid’s overcoat, I feel like I really nailed the colors and process on Moody’s.

I had a lot of fun painting this dopey troll. Definitely got to put some color theory to the test. The skin a pale grey green and the shadows a desaturated red giving the skin just that little bit of life while still being in the fantasy realm.

Voldemort was the third miniature I finished this year. Probably going to be one of the best if not best models I painted in 2019.

Bellatrix was a blast to paint. I really feel the model captivates her chaotic nature.

So for Hagrid I really want to play with the worn look of the coat. In a later model (Mad-Eye Moody) I would get it a bit better.

Dumbledore was next. It was hard to decide which colors to paint his robe as you see him in a bunch of different ones. So a did this pale blue one that was inspired by one of the lighter colored ones.

The unicorn was next. Had a lot of fun blending the black to white and testing out some of the new tuffs I got at the time.
