Forge World Reveal New Horus Heresy Sanguinius Miniature!
January 28, 2019 by brennon
Forge World has today revealed the miniature for Sanguinius, Primarch Of The Blood Angels. Check him out...
Most of you familiar with Warhammer 40,000 lore will be familiar with this angelic warrior who sacrificed himself battling Horus atop the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit. He was a peerless warrior and battled the forces of Chaos time and time again, his death sending a shockwave through his Chapter that would forever change them.
I quite like the artistry of this piece which looks like it has really drawn from the various pieces of artwork done of the Primarch over the years. He certainly has that angelic and dangerous feel nailed down, descending on his enemies to deliver judgement.
The miniature above is available as part of their Horus Heresy Character Series but there will also be a special version of the model which will come with an extraordinary display base.
Suddenly a lot of Blood Angels players cried out in glee!
What do you make of this new Primarch?

Having not been a player of 40K for many years the first chapter i ever collected was Blood Angels. Even though i no longer play i love the fiction from the Black Library and am currently working though the Horus Heresy Series. Incredibly gripping and well written, i am really pleased to see them brought to life with a dedicated collection of minis.
Sanguinius is looking glorious.
Yeah- all he needs is a Bloodthirster on his base.
Like this? ?
Raldoron looks amazing too!
Damnit forge World this is going to ruin my new year’s resolution…
Yup that will be added to the collection 🙂
I always had a soft spot for the Blood Angels, I’m very tempted indeed.
*quiet voice* are they also doing a dead version for the Emp/Horus final ruckus?
A final diorama of the Emperor Vs Horus on his ship would be very special.
I’m sure someone will oblige once the Emperor is released. Hopefully they’ll make a project for it
Precariously balancing on the world’s highest toilet with his head on fire?
Not what I was hoping for certainly.
I’d rather give Celestine a double mastectomy and a headswap.
And before you ask, yes, the Blood Angels are my oldest and biggest marine army, and I was considering lowering myself into 30k just this once.
An billion pounds saved.
lol. A bit of an awkward pose too. Must be that great pillar he’s sitting on. Symbolic I suppose; the rest of us will no doubt be bent over on the price.
This. I love the sculpt, but the pose looks a little awkward, and after having so many flying models suspended on flying stands, or otherwise lifted on scrolls or similar, it’s bizarre to see him sitting on a giant stalagmite.
A fantastic sculpt overall, but the position of the photo does rather make him look as though he’s got a rock rammed up the jacksie.
He may be fighting the bloodthirster on the corrupted world they nearly got tricked on ? @dracs
I’m not keen. His head looks like it is on fire and he is bum sliding down the oddly tall rock thing.
And I think he is holding that sword all weird.
If sanguinius is out will the Chaos death/blood angle to harass the Angle’s forces be following ?
Lovely detailing and great looking wings, the pose (at least from this angle) ruins it for me though. The way his left arm and legs are posed makes it look more like he just tripped and is one second way from faceplanting rather than in the midst of a heroic, downward thrust.
Glorius Hawk boy!
I’m recognizing many of the same features I didn’t like about the fulgrim sculpt. Head’s at a weird angle an there is too much going on with the hair.
He’s not the worst Primarch, by any means (that ‘honour’ goes to Lorgar), but he’s a bit disappointing. I feel like this is the pose they should have reserved for Russ or Curze. Sanguinius should have been a bit more handsome, a bit more delicate, a bit more sensitive.
Oh well. He kind of reminds me of someone trying to be manly but then slowly sliding down an icy hill and trying their best not to fall.
Maybe I misunderstood the fluff but it always thought it a tad odd that the primarch with the secret blood-related flaw should have been coincidentally named “Sanguinius”. Kinda gave the game away really…
Looks somewhat odd to me. Hopfully the 2nd model they talked about will be more my kinda style.
