Got some more hobby progress done today. for the Middenheim project I assembled another 8 swordsmen to take my unit up to 25 (I like WHFB with lots of big blocks of core infantry – not so much a fan of the gribbly monsters…) and got them primed. then touched up the priming on a bunch of other stuff where I had missed spots. Started putting the base colours down on a couple of units. Got the Brett cavalry i’m doing up for my friend dip varnished. Also got some scenery bits primed – I’m keen to make up some small vignettes for marketplaces etc that I can just drop in to tabletops to make the place look live in, rather than having to individually set up a bunch of crates, sacks and barrels every time I want to do up a town themed tabletop. So that will be another slow burn side project…

Questions:

(1) what is your kryptonite. Discuss – Erm… Lack of sleep? The absence of coffee? Oh, I know! The music they play in supermarkets and shopping malls that is supposed to relax you and make you want to spend more but just makes me want to run away in terror and not buy products 🙂

(2) name a faction from a game you dislike and why but also make a balanced argument. Space marines. There is a serious disconnect between the lore and their tabletop fighting stats. Either their in game stats need to be upgraded so that the basic marines have terminator equivalent stats and better shooting damage output, or the lore needs a rework to admit that a chapter needs well over 1000 marines or it would get trounced into oblivion by the first sizeable ork mob that happened across them…

(3) how would you weaponise a muffin? The crazier, sci-fi / magic inspired the better. This is creative and zany – Oh I already know the answer to that one, sounds like  conversation some friends of mine and I had about 11 years ago… Electroplate the muffin and fire it from a rail gun. Job done 🙂 (The original discussion involved a frozen chicken, just in case anyone was curious…).

@sundancer good to see boba is safely encased 🙂 Oh wow – so much red…

@dawfydd nice progress on the wolves. And more hobby projects is a good thing, right?… Or were you looking for support to stay focused on current projects? Sorry, I guess I’m more of an enabler than the voice of reason on hobby stuff… 🙂

@horati0nosebl0wer heh, love Neuroticfish 🙂 Still haven’t checked out the album from last year (I anm so far behind…). good to hear you have a plan for the scrap tank 🙂

@biggabum well if we have to do Christmas again at least it is at the end of the year I guess… Bane warriors look really good. Congrats.

@rayzryr glad you guys survived the heat – must have been a long day for your little one. If you end up going in future years let me know a little ways out – I should hopefully be able to tee up a lift for you as a minimum 🙂 I think my plague striders will probably end up being rank filler in a unit of goblins somewhere towards the back, just for comic value (I’m a fan of comic goblins…).

@woldenspoons nice progress on TWD

@mage must get a strat made on the Orville. I hear good things. Double header was a reference to you hosting 2 weeks in a row 🙂 Wasn’t really keen on working in those colours for the Knights but that’s the direction I was given by my friend so I want ahead as it’s his unit. now that they are finished though I think the uniform colour scheme in the unit really does work. Now just need to sort a lord with the same heraldry and an accompanying peasant levy…

@wazarov that’s pure gold! Well played! And thanks for sharing 🙂

@jodain is the Conquest 40k terrain going to be repurposed for Legion or are you planning on running it in 40k games. I suppose you could use for both of course…
