So what are the odds on an Erehwon boot camp?
@warzan please do film a review for Erehwon, got my copy here
This thumbnail man…
Its stuff of legend 😀 😀 😀
more like stuff of nightmares … *eep*
Erewhon looks interesting . Tempted to try it with multi based 10mm figures
I must admit I did laugh out loud when Justin said That there allowing you to play with miniatures from other companies
good to see your map holder wasn’t just a pip bream ? Lol @warzan
Jeebus lads take care in the back passage!
@warzan Love to see something about Erehwon because I want to see if I can use my Frostgrave warbands and make duel use of the miniatures. According to the website “A force is imagined to number anywhere from twenty or thirty models to about fifty or sixty.” How exactly is that going to be a skirmish game? Regarding FDM and SLA. You will always have both. You realize that Porsche and others are already using FDM to create parts in their parts catalog? Resin can be used for certain things but you are not going to do that with metal… Read more »
Justin is defining skirmish in that it’s not using rank and file (trays a wheeling etc) the minis are separate and move as loose units. FDM for sure has a powerful purpose in other industries where materials such as steel and carbon fibre etc are required. But in our industry where the range of materials are not required and the big requirements are speed and detail, I really do think light based curing is the obvious choice. Resin prices can come down and I’m not sure there is much of a theoretical limit to the size of the print bed.… Read more »
Well @dignity I can see why you’d be excited about that new 3D printer. With a machine like that you and a crew of joiners could have a cathedral built in about 6 hours. 😉 😛 😉
We still have laser and inktjet printers.
Heck … dot matrix printers still exist.
So while DLP style may be the ‘ultimate’ version of 3D printing the regular variant will have its use.
Even if it is as basic as the one type of printer that any hobbyist can build and maintain.
You had me at dirty pipes 🙂
Talking about the new 3D technology made me really excited. We need some big leaps forward to speed this along. And those mats look seductive all neatly packed away.
All I can think of are lines from the film “Cabin Boy”… “And when I return I will be a cabin MAN” … “These pipes, are clean!”
Aside from that I agree @warzan the detail level will become ridiculous. I think I might invest in buying .stl files outside of Kickstarters direct from digisculptors/get work done on commission for one of a kind competition display bases. How else can somebody get a writhing mass of bodies for a Slaanesh theme piece without a metric ton of patience/sculpting skill?
I love your ideas for these things. The Vlogs where you show your storage issues could be a bit “Look at our rich people problems” – I mean most people’s problems is not storing 100+ mats but saving up to buy one or two. Also most people don’t have the space issues “where to store all our boardgames and terrain” but rather “which board game can I sell to be able to afford a new one”… It’s a bit like if Kanye West did a video showcasing how he could fit all his ferraris into his garage ;-P However, you… Read more »
I caught the elbow glance at 11:54, no miss guaranteed! Nice setup you guys got there, I agree with @dignity, add a kicker or kick board.
I hope you’re n ot about to get SWATed XD
