Artel W Reveal The Future Of Their Seeress
January 22, 2019 by dracs
Artel W Miniatures have finished the sculpting on their upcoming sci-fi seeress miniature and have shown it off with two assembly variants.
There is something extremely graceful about this model. It may be a case of foot-on-rock, but I think it can be forgiven as the stance makes it look as though she is drifting across the battlefield.
The sculpt itself promises to feature some really nice detail, adding to the sci-fi look and feel of the character. The variant options on display here are particularly nice, though I do question the orb of psychic power. Sure, it's cool to see her mid-spell, but the way her hand is posed makes it look a bit like she's playing basketball.
What variants do you hope to see for this sculpt?

If only GW could do things like this for the space elves … soo pretty
I think it looks like a great model. But, I said this before, I would like them to try to not copy GW. Its the, or one of the biggest game companies on the planet. So making models that will fit in to their settings is easy money. It just feels that people far too often will go with the safe bet instead of trying something new. Even if the safe bet is how far too many people have to do to keep the lights on. Still a great looking model and I like the spell effect/Focus in the off… Read more »
That is absolutely stunning.
Although it is literally foot on rock, I give it a pass since the pose lets you easily remove the rock and mount the figure with its foot on the ground.
OR, you could create a basing theme for your force in which justifies ruins here and there.
I really don’t understand people’s aversion to nice looking bases like this one.
There’s nice, and then there’s “standing on a plinth so tall it towers over every other miniature on the table”. I’m of the opinion that the base should serve as framing for the model and that over-doing the base detracts from the model itself, especially when it’s as incongruous as having one particular model standing on an object like that when every other model in the army is elevated a mere 2.5mm above the battlefield. It’s a pain when playing TLOS too, because you either need to be constantly switching it out for a proxy, or otherwise accept that it… Read more »
A great looking figure.
