Project Primingholderthingy

About the Project
So I used to prime my models while they where blu-tack'ed to my DIY miniature holder and inserted in an old LEGO cardboard box. But that was a very unstable way. So I did what I usually do: I go OVERKILL

I've got a cunning plan mylord!
We need wood! Lucky for me that I had just build some bookshelves so I had some spare wood.
I took two 10cm x 52cm (16mm thick) and screwed them together. After that I marked the positions of the future holes. Centre to centre approximately 54mm (Star Wars Legion bases are 27mm so roughly I’d get one in the front row and on the back row alternating)
We need room.
So now I had one piece of wood with holes and a second piece with matching recesses. But having them flat on top of each other would leave 3/5 of the miniature holder (aka “small piece of wood) exposed and prone to tipping. So I added a few spacers and used the drill holes for long screws and handles. The handles are 3cmx3cmx10cm.
And done... sort of.
What I had forgotten were the little holes for my thin “partholders”.
So back in the garage and drill 20 holes. No big deal.
I almost consider this done but I was thinking about magnetizing the miniature holders (because all SW:L minis have metal in their base as added weight) with a magnet inserted in the top.
And since the drilling left small indents in the primingholderthingy I could put magnets there too. Just put a little screw in the bottom of the miniature holder.
But those have to wait because I have to order those magnets first.
So I’m done for now. (Just need a little bit better weather and then I can start priming again)
But wait, there is more!
The magnets already arrived. Now I can magnetize all the holderthingies!
Aaaand done.
So now I have drilled small holes in the bottom middle of my miniature holders, added a little recess and screwed some screws flat in. On top of them I drilled 5mm holes off centre and glued a 5x3mm magnet in. Off centre because the washers I glue under the bases have a hole in the middle so a magnet there would be rather useless 😉
The same sized magnet is plunged in a little recessed hole in my primingholderthingy and glued in flush and centred. So now I can drop my miniature holders in there and they won’t fall off. See attached pictures 😉
