Quirky & Brutal; New Warhammer Underworlds Warbands Soon
January 15, 2019 by brennon
Games Workshop has announced that this weekend sees pre-orders open up for two new Warhammer Underworlds warbands kicking off with Mollog's Mob.
Considering the number of people who have been jumping on the Gloomspite Gitz released I can see this new warband going down a storm. Games Workshop has already said that this new warband plays in a very unique way compared to others from Warhammer Underworlds and it will be a new challenge for players to get used to.
He is a total wrecking ball as you can see HERE, able to move and charge around like a monster (hah), especially when he has been inspired by taking damage. The other aspects of his warband are simply there to cause distractions and annoy your opponent before Mollog gets involved!
Darkoath Warriors
As well as the quirky Mollog's Mob there's also The Godsworn Hunt on the warpath led by Theddra Skull-scryer.
Whilst many of the existing Chaos Warbands have been focused on getting up close and personal in battle, hacking things apart with their melee weapons, The Godsworn Hunt are just as adept at using ranged weapons.
Using their additional speed and prowess on the move, this might be a hard warband to try and pin down. I do like most of the miniatures although that hound in the bottom right just doesn't look right to me...it looks like a statue.
Which warband will you be picking up?

Love the look of both of those. I especially like those Gloomspite models and really want to know what the bitey rock monster is.
Ooh they all look good 5he troll is fabulous.
I can see what you mean about the dog. I think it’s all the hard edges and planar surfaces.
While I think these miniatures have a lot of character and quirkiness I do wonder how they would look in a more modern paint style. There are some painters out there now who can really bring a miniature to life with more realism through their paint job but then I also wonder should companies paint at an achievable level. Either way, I think these new releases are very recognisable as GW and nice additions to the range 🙂
While I am not digging that first warband that second warband is really good looking group.
Got my christmas GW vouchers ready to go
I am loving these war bands for underworlds. I’m onto my 3rd now and can see myself doing a bunch more — including Mollog’s — since they are interesting to paint and an easy way to get a sample of different factions.
