Bolt Action Players OF Ireland, OTT Wants You!
January 10, 2019 by dracs
Attention all Bolt Action players of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. OnTableTop is looking to put together an All-Ireland Bolt Action Team to send to the Bolt Action World Team Championships this year!
With the launch of our new Visitors' Centre, we are excited to provide greater support for our gaming community, with an aim to help set up Ireland national teams for a number of different games, starting with Bolt Action.
Team members will be given access to the gaming facilities at our Visitors' Centre for practice games, with dedicated practice nights and table set-ups, as well as other forms of support from us.
The team will then head out to take part in the Bolt Action World Team Championships in Poland, starting on May the 4th this year. The event takes place over two days, with four-player teams from all over the world gathering to battle it out over the course of six games.
Once the team has been assembled, they will have until the end of March to submit five 1000 point army lists following these criteria:
- 3 - 5 Generic Reinforced Platoons.
- 0 – 1 Armoured Platoons.
- 0 – 1 Theatre Selector
- 0 – 1 Dual Platoon (One list must contain a higher costed commander)
- Only four platoons will be used and the team does not have to reveal which are to be used until
registration on day 1. - No national Army Rules may be played by more than one player, for example you can have 1
German List, 1 USA list etc. You may not have two lists using the German national rules etc. - There is no dice cap on the lists.
This is something we are really excited to be involved with. We love to see the gaming community in Ireland grow and international tournaments like this really bring people together in their shared love of our hobby.

Kitchener
oops
did Hague not do it as well ?
Not as far as I know . I’m sure his Presbyterian views wouldn’t have allowed him such moments of frivolity
Interestingly the poster was never actually produced in WW1
interesting.
You may want to take to facebook for this Ireland’s Gaming Community, as well as messaging individual shops and clubs. There is a heavy bolt action presence at the Gathering in Limerick, and one of the clubs in Leinster (not sure if the Warheads are still active but I think they moved over to Bolt Action) and possibly one of the Dublin Clubs (might be Dublin Gamers Guild, again not sure) would be able to provide team members.
I miss Gary in the Gathering…great days, great days.
There are lots of Bolt Action players down in the Lisburn club
How Irish does on have to be? I have an Irish Nan and live here 4 months a year? I also get the odd ginger beard hair!
