Let’s Play: Chain Of Command – Blitzkrieg!
January 21, 2019 by dignity
We have Rich from Too Fat Lardies back in the studio for another game of Chain of Command.
This time the guys are playing the Blitzkrieg scenario from the new Blitzkrieg 1940 book.
As the name implies the German forces need to storm through the defences of the shellshocked Dutch troops who have just been bombarded by the devastating Luftwaffe.
Can the Dutch forces survive the blitzkrieg?

Great game.
Looks nice. Hope to get some demo games over here in Dublin.
Great game guys. Rich fell for the bullet magnet tactic, while Justin commands his troops like a fox.
I look forward to another Sharp Practice and Chain of Command game.
Another superb game – like Rommel, Justin saw his opportunity and went for it. The Dice Gods were friendly in giving him the next phase so often but hey, that’s Fate for you.
I love Chain of Command! Big Rich is such a true gamer/sportsman and the banter around these games is very entertaining.
Great game, really like the flow of Chain of Command with you choose what to activate each turn.
Great to see Rich back on OTT/BOW
Very well done Justin
I do enjoy listening to your batreps with Mr Lardy, however, I do prefer Bolt Action as a game system.
nice one guys.
Excellent game. Hope there is more in the pipeline.
Good game idea and good game.
From which manufacturer are the Dutch miniatures?
Thinking of the solo-gaming article series of this week, is CoC solo-friendly?
I haven’t watched it yet but if its 28mm Dutch figures there most likely from May 1940
I would say it is possible to game solo, and the ‘hand of dice’ does reduce predictability. But it would be a poor second to having a live opponent outwitting you. Just as Justin did in this one.
Great game. Richard’s reaction at 34:02 when Justin rolls another double six on his command dice is priceless – the realisation that there’s nothing he can do….
And rugby references greatly appreciated as well – we need more of them, possibly tied in with some cricket references as well!
I’m guessing that would be the ‘Schwarzlose’ machinegun ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwarzlose_machine_gun )
I think we also had some classic 18th century era cannons …
so yeah, not the best stuff.
We still managed to give them a bloody nose despite all of that.
One has to wonder how things would have been if both tactics and gear had been up-to-date.
